Andrew's Champions adventure over for this season
Andrew’s involvement in this year’s Mid Sussex Champion of Champions competition came to an end when he came up against the formidable Mick Christian.
The Burgess Hill men’s champion beat Andrew 21-4 in a game that was – much like Andrew’s win in the previous round - far closer than the score suggests.
After taking a point on the first end, Andrew fell 1-7 behind and was unable to prise the mat – which spent much of the game a third of the way up the rink - off his opponent for much of the remainder of the contest.
Andrew commented of his opponent: “Not only is he a very good player, but he’s a gentleman and a sportsman.”
